Slide show of the Deutsch Family Album
I remember when Tzvi S. and I were learning in Yeshiva in Eretz (about 1995), Ma and Aunty were there at that time. They asked us to come to the לויה of their cousin Deszo Kohn from Vienna, to help form a מינין. His wife and daughter (IIRC) were there as well. He was buried on הר המנוחות.
ReplyDeleteIf I recall correctly, Joe mentioned that his father had a telephone in his shop and R' Avraham Yehoshua Heschel who later became Kapitchnitzer Rebbe (in 1926) would use their phone for his חסד activities on behalf of the גאליציאנער and פולישע refugees.
ReplyDeleteHe also mentioned that his brother-in-law Paul Richter was one of the few people who had a car in Vienna. When the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe ר' יוסף יצחק was in a convalescent home not far from Vienna Paul drove some fellows from the Viennese Jugend Gruppe(Youth Group) to visit the Rebbe.
I vaguely remember hearing from Joe that Paul also drove the Lubavitcher Rebbe in his car. Paul's brother Karl said he only remembered Paul driving the fellows out for a visit.
